Theatre for Young Audiences Prizes

UNDER REVIEW

These three annual prizes recognize outstanding professional theatre productions created for young audiences.  The prizes are presented in partnership with the associations which currently organize theatre prizes in Canada's three largest cities: the Dora Awards in Toronto, the Soirée des masques in Montreal and the Jessie Awards in Vancouver.  The winners are selected by peer juries appointed by each of the three associations.  The prizes are awarded annually, and the main selection criterion is the artistic merit of the production.  In addition to the prize money, the Canada Council provides $5,000 to each of the organizations to assist in the administration and jurying of the awards.
