The Audience and Market Development Office works to build and expand markets at home and overseas for Canadian art across all artistic disciplines in a manner that is proactive, strategic and responsive to opportunities. The Office places high value on the building of long-term relationships and networks and, understanding the small size of the domestic arts market, takes a concerted approach to developing expertise and strategies to engage markets abroad. As an informed observer of domestic and international arts market trends, the Office identifies issues and areas of activity for the Canada Council for the Arts relating to market development and offers a focused set of interventions that includes both grants and services.
