Revealed by Fire (2001) - A mythic journey of personal transformation, Revealed By Fire is an inspiring autobiographical work that speaks to the universal experience of loss and survival. Based on Lata Pada’s personal journey through unspeakable tragedy- the loss of her husband and two daughters in the 1985 Air India mid-air explosion, Canada’s worst act of aviation terrorism, this poignant work has resonated with audiences world wide. A powerful evening length multimedia dance theatre production with an evocative visual design, Revealed By Fire was created in collaboration with photographer Cylla von Tiedemann, dramaturg and playwright Judith Rudakoff and music composers Timothy Sullivan and R.A. Ramamani.

Soraab – Mirage (2002) - Inspired by Lata’s childhood friendship with Afghan woman Zubeida, Soraab-Mirage explores an ongoing theme in her work: the identity and transformation of women is a sometimes hostile, often unforgiving world. The shifting sand dunes and the haunting melodies of Afghanistan form the backdrop for this powerful chronicle of a woman who dreams of freedom under the oppression of the Taliban regime. Middle Eastern composer Maryem Tollar who provides the live vocal and musical score collaborates with Lata in performing this work.
