COBA (Collective of Black Artists)

COBA’s (Collective of Black Artists) dynamic performances are alive with energy, passion and rhythm. Inspired by African and Afro-Caribe folk music and dance, COBA balances tradition with contemporary artforms and commentary on present-day realities. Many of its productions highlight the potential for social change – an ideal it practices through community involvement.

In 2009 it continued to expand its outreach, introducing children to dance and encouraging them to celebrate African heritage through workshops with families, schools and youth in disadvantaged communities and families.
