The Canada Council for the Arts is committed to promoting the value the arts bring to the lives of Canadians. We do this through connecting arts organizations and artists with audiences and finding ways to engage the public in the arts.
Our approach is focused on partnerships with other funders, arts organizations and artists on pilot projects, including Building Public Engagement in the Arts in New Brunswick. Watch this page for regular updates on new projects.
We provide tools and information to help you increase public engagement in the arts and communicate the value of the arts to stakeholders. The Arts Promotion Kit includes practical tools and fact sheets to help you make the case for the arts.
We also offer information on various aspects of public engagement in the arts. The Next Generation Dialogues report provides information about what motivates young Canadians to engage with the arts and also about the challenges young artists and arts administrators face in connecting with their audiences.
The Canada Council for the Arts supports Culture Days, an open, collaborative volunteer movement to raise the awareness, accessibility, participation and engagement by all Canadians in the arts and cultural life of their communities.
